Description

This course, Body, is the fifth course in the Technician Certification learning path.  Topics to be discussed in this course are exhibited in the following list:

  • Window Identification and Care
  • Introduction to NextGen Seat Configurations
  • Use and Operation of Cockpit Controls
  • Utilizing the Dash Instrument Panel Features
  • Emergency Equipment

 

Objectives

  • Identify common factory reference points for the constructed body
  • Describe the passenger compartment as defined by FMVSS for each product type
  • Identify the joints that are assembled with structural adhesives
  • State the acceptable replacement fasteners used in body panel replacement
  • Identify areas where structural adhesive is required
  • Label the correct metal gauge for interior and exterior panels, including options for each
  • Correctly identify the manufacturer of an installed window
  • Choose actions that are part of regular window track maintenance
  • Describe how to adjust the Push Out (P/O) window buzzer
  • Identify which seat backs can be attached to the standard NextGen seat base
  • Locate the fasteners required to change the seat back
  • Describe how to raise and lower the seat bottoms for improved floor access
  • List the lights affected by activating the exterior lamp check system
  • Describe which systems are affected by the Noise Suppression switch
  • Put in order the steps to activate the 8 light warning system
  • Identify the manufacturer of an installed gauge cluster / instrument panel
  • Identify the menu navigation needed to access fault codes and system parameters
  • Describe how to activate/deactivate the turn signal sound produced by the dash
  • Describe the difference in using the roof hatch as a vent compared to the function of an emergency exit
  • Identify what condition the roof hatch, P.O.W., and rear door buzzers indicate when alarming
  • State the frequency of function check for all emergency egress devices
